A tribute song for Greenday, a band that have inpired us massively (me the most I guess) in our (my) musical journey and interest. Truth to be told, the first song I learnt on a guitar was Basket Case by Greenday in a little jungle when I was taking part in a Boys Scout Camping trip back in 1997.
Second Time of Your Life is a result of our own rendition of one of Greenday's best songs called Time of Your Life. We used the same chord progression with slight improvisation in the rhythm of the song.
This song was suppose to be the band's second song when it was only Izzy and John, known as The Wilkinsons. But sadly we never really had the chance to finish it. I am not sure why. We never really recorded it and there's no lyrics, hence the instrumental nature of it. All I have is this raw recording with only my guitar.
Hopefully one day I will be able to finish off this song.
Trivia: This song was never completed and was never played/released.

Thinking of You (Live)
"Thinking of You" is the first ever song produced and recorded by the band when it was known as The Wilkinsons. The song was recorded live with nothing more than a cheap PC mic using Windows Sound Recorder. This song was previously unreleased.
Trivia: This song was first performed live at Jason's party (our neighbour then) by Izzy.

The Carbon Nanotubes Buzzzz...
My work involves the application and manipulation of nanoscopic structures called Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs). Although their application and superior chemical/electrical/mechanical properties are broad and extensive, they seem to be overly hyped up by the media as the next generation "silicon", as the fact is, the technology will not be readily available to the mass public atleast in another 10 years.
Therefore, labelling it as the "next generation" is quite optimistic and not quite realistic. Not to mention a public missconception. Yes it will be the "next generation" technology eventually, but not the immediate "next" to what we have now, if you get what i mean.
I learn this fact the hard way as usual; The growing and manupulation process of sumthing more than 1000x smaller than your nostril hair is no mundane labour. Plus the current research on electronic application of CNTs are still in the infancy and rudimentary. Most of the publications available now are only surrounding the operation and conceptual applications of CNTs. Performance wise is still ahead of the current view of research.
But then again I feel privileged to to be able to "contribute" to the advancement of CNTs research and be heavily involved in the application developement of these lil SOBs.
I managed to try to grow some CNTs that are supposedly to be straight and well alligned, but all I got was some forest of CNTs intead. They look more like little worms in a grand slam orgy or sumthing. I used a scanning electron microscopy to view it and took these pics:

Well, i have to keep on trying. I will post again once i get to grow some meaningful CNTs. In the meantime, I will be posting more songs of Nevermind The Hazatsu, which is what this blog will be focusing on from now on...

Major overhaul due soon!!
This blog has been plagued with no-updates for ages. I guess its a common "blog disease"; or is it? Regardless of all the excuses that i can come up with for not putting on any post for months, it doesn't matter any more right? Who am i justifiying to anyway?
But as you can see, the blog is undergoing quite a major overhaul, both interms of layout and content and will be ready soon enough.
It will be up and running a in a few weeks i suppose.... need to get a new guitar first.
LAter...

For an uncertain future, one for me - Scientist
I've been such a workaholic for the past few weeks. Greedy in doing my work. But never really care of the actual outcome. I am now on a path of uncertain future. My life, my work, my dignity and my love.
And when you are beginning to be inept in your work and field. Ppl will start to question. Ppl will start to talk and they wont trust you anymore. They talk bad when you are on a high, and still they talk bad when you are at your lowest. They talk bad; that is just what they do.
Ppl come in and out from your life like its a convinient store. They grab hurriedly to what they want, pay for it, leave the change at times, and go about to their original business. They dont bother to look up at the cashier. They leave the resit on the counter. They line up to pay only when the feel like it. They dont care. They want to get in there, buy what they want and leave. Leave you until the next visit, expecting to make that routine purchase again, without any glimpse of wanting to really know you or to really care.
They dont seem to appreciate the convenience that you are providing for them until you are closed and done. Closed your heart shut. Then they will realise that they miss you..... But they dont grieve for long. They'll just curse you to your guts. Curse you because you are no longer there to provide for them...
When you finally decided to open up your heart again, they will just enter again like as if nothing had happened. Not even a smile or slight sigh of relief.
They come in, grab what they want, pay and leave. Never bother to look up. Never bother to turn around upon exiting and be thankful and smile......
You are just a convenient store to them.. I am a convenient store to you.
Hit me and or leave me as you wish. All to your heart's content..................... I am just a convenient store to you.......

Come up to meet you,
Tell you I'm sorry
You don't know how lovely you are
I had to find you
Tell you I need you
Tell you I've set you apart
Tell me your secrets
And ask me your questions
oh, let's go back to the start
Running in circles
Comet tails
Heads on the science apart
Nobody said it was easy
It's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard
Oh take me back to the start
I was just guessing
At numbers and figures
Pulling your puzzles apart
Questions of science
Science and progress
Do not speak as loud as my heart
Come tell me you love me
Come back and haunt me
All in a rush to the start
Running in circles
Chasing our tails
Comin' back as we are
Nobody said it was easy
Oh, it's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be so hard
I’m going back to the start...
Oh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ah ooh ooh ooh ooh
